The yard will be open on both Saturdays and Sundays beginning the weekend of April 5, 2026.

Public Works and Water/Sewer

Important Notice

The Public Works Yard and Recycling Center is open Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM and weekends 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM. The facility closes daily from 12:00-12:30 PM for lunch. Please remember to sign in upon arrival.

To ensure complete coverage, Public Works asks residents to call and schedule their leaves/brush pickup. Collections take place on Tuesdays.
*Excluding Holidays in which case pick-up will be Friday,

There will be NO pickup Thanksgiving week! 

Please note that we no longer accept tires at our facility. Residents may bring their tires to the Southern Recycling Center, located at 379 Haywood Road, Manahawkin. Hours: Monday through Saturday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM Phone: 609-978-0913

To assist with snow removal efforts, please remove all vehicles and portable basketball hoops from snow-covered roadways. Help us help you keep roads clear for emergency services, including police, fire, and EMS – and for your own safety.

During periods of flooding, storms, or hurricanes, please secure all personal belongings—especially items that may float away, such as trash containers. Please be advised: Tuckerton Borough is not responsible for any lost or missing trash bins. If your bin is lost, you must visit the Construction Office at the Municipal Complex (420 East Main Street) to purchase a replacement.

Tuckerton Borough Department of Public Works – Policies & Guidelines
The Department of Public Works operates in accordance with all applicable Borough rules and regulations, as well as standards set forth by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Any additional rules and regulations adopted by other governmental agencies or Borough officials are also binding upon the department.

Proof of Residency All residents must check in and provide the required proof of residency before disposing of any items at the Borough yard.

Bulk Pickup To schedule a bulk pickup, please call 609-296-5058. Pickups are conducted on Fridays. Please do not place items at the curb until the day before your scheduled pickup. *Note: If a holiday falls on the scheduled pickup day, collection will be moved to Thursday.*

Leaves & Brush Pickup Residents are encouraged to call ahead to schedule leaves and brush pickup to ensure no one is overlooked.

Construction Debris is not accepted at the Public Works yard or at curbside — for both residential and commercial properties. **Where a Building Permit is required, the homeowner and/or contractor is solely responsible for arranging proper disposal.**
