Before and During your Virtual Hearing 

On our website, you must click the link to Register for the correct Court date to receive the Zoom Link. (Dates are listed below) 

Once correctly registered, Zoom will email you (not the court) with the link needed to click to join the court session. 

You must wait for the day and time of court to attempt to join the session. 

You must log in with your correct name; “iPhone User’ ‘Galaxy’ or any nicknames will not be accepted, it must be your correct, full name or you will not be admitted. If you are not on the Court calendar, you will not be admitted. 

You must connect to audio (Computer or phone), if you don’t, the Court will not be able to hear you, a message will pop up prompting you to choose your audio.  

A message will greet you when you are admitted into the session, PLEASE READ IT. 

A short video containing the Opening Statements will be played, please make sure you keep yourself muted. 

Once the video is over, the Moderator will announce the beginning of the Breakout rooms. This is a separate area where you will be able to speak to the Prosecutor about your case in private. An invitation will pop up on your screen, you must accept the invite. 

You will be in this area by yourself, it will be a blank screen, do not leave. The Prosecutor will go from room to room to speak to each defendant, please understand it will take some time. Do not leave the room until you are asked to do so by the Moderator or the Prosecutor.  

**If you are calling on a phone, you will be placed into a Breakout room as well, you will hear silence, DO NOT hang up. The Prosecutor will join your room to discuss your case** 

Once you speak to the Prosecutor, you will be advised to leave the Breakout room. You will then re-join the main session and when the Judge is ready, he will call you by name to discuss your case.  

 

What to do After your Virtual Hearing 

Please give the court at least 4 business days to enter the disposition information. Later in the week, you will receive a letter from the Court containing your Time Payment (if needed).

IMPORTANT REMINDERS 

Please be advised, the Court session will be recorded.  

If you do not log in with your correct name, or you are not on the calendar, you will not be admitted. 

Always keep yourself muted until your name is called. 

The Court does not call before the Court date and the Court does not Email the Zoom link. (Zoom emails the link when you register, it is your responsibility to keep the email and click the link when the session is about to begin).  

Failure to follow instructions or cause a disturbance will lead to your removal of the court session.

Obtaining a Public Defender

If you desire the services of the Public Defender, you must complete an application at the Court office.
If you are approved, there is usually a fee of $200.00 charged to you. This amount should be paid in full prior to your appearance in court.

Here are direction to the Tuckerton Borough Municipal Court house.

From the North

 Garden State Parkway to Exit 58.  At the top of the exit, turn left onto Route 539 South.  *Go 3.3 miles to the third traffic light (Route 9 or East Main Street--Dunkin Donuts is on your left and across from you on the right is WaWa).  At the traffic light, turn left.  Approximately 1.1 miles up on right is the Borough Hall.

From the South

Take Route 539 to the Route 9 traffic light.  After crossing over the Garden State Parkway, (Route 9 or East Main Street--Dunkin Donuts will be on your left corner and across the street on the right will be WaWa).  At the traffic light, turn left.  Approximately 1.1 miles up on right is the Borough Hall.
