                                               Virtual Court Proceedings

  • You must Register for your Court Date to receive the Zoom Link.
  • Please log in to the meeting with your correct name.  If you are using a nickname or anything similar to 'iPhone User' or 'Galaxy', you will not be admitted to the meeting.
  • A short video containing the Opening Statements will be played.
  • After the video, you will receive a pop-up window inviting you to a Breakout Room- You must accept the invitation to speak to the Prosecutor.
  • You will be in this room by yourself until the Prosecutor joins to discuss your case. You may be in there for some time- the Prosecutor has many people to speak to. 
  • Please do not leave the room until the Prosecutor tells you to, each time you leave, you will get placed at the end of the line.

Keys to a successful Zoom Court appearance

*A link will be sent by email.
*Set up in a closed room with no noise or other people
*Connect to meeting using your real first and last name
*Be sure to allow all connection to audio and video by Zoom

As per AOC rules, audio and video recording of the proceedings are strictly prohibited. If you would like a copy of the proceeding, you can fill out a Judiciary Records Request form which can be found at the New Jersey Courts Online

What to do after your Court Appearance

The Judge will discuss payment options.
If you are assessed fines and costs and would like to pay with a credit card, go to njmcdirect.com, where you can pay with a credit card.
Please allow 48 hours before trying to pay online.
You can mail in a check or money order to cover fines and costs;

Obtaining a Public Defender

If you desire the services of the Public Defender, you must complete an application at the Court office.
If you are approved, there is usually a fee of $200.00 charged to you. This amount should be paid in full prior to your appearance in court.

Here are direction to the Tuckerton Borough Municipal Court house.

From the North

 Garden State Parkway to Exit 58.  At the top of the exit, turn left onto Route 539 South.  *Go 3.3 miles to the third traffic light (Route 9 or East Main Street--Dunkin Donuts is on your left and across from you on the right is WaWa).  At the traffic light, turn left.  Approximately 1.1 miles up on right is the Borough Hall.

From the South

Take Route 539 to the Route 9 traffic light.  After crossing over the Garden State Parkway, (Route 9 or East Main Street--Dunkin Donuts will be on your left corner and across the street on the right will be WaWa).  At the traffic light, turn left.  Approximately 1.1 miles up on right is the Borough Hall.
