I.R.S.  Survey Scam

An email hitting in-boxes all across the country claims to be from the Internal Revenue Service and offers cash for participating in a survey, but it is a scam.

 

The email falsely promises $80 for filling out an online customer satisfaction survey, which requires you to enter personal information.

The IRS says the email scam is being sent by criminals trying to steal your identity.

The IRS never initiates contact with taxpayers through email and never asks for pins, passwords or other secret access information.
